R/GA Takes Agency of the Year at the Webbys

Agency Had Most Nominations and Picked Up Eight Awards

The Ad Council's anti-prejudice video "Love Has No Labels" has propelled R/GA to success at this year's Webby Awards, with the agency taking the top honor of Webby Agency of the Year. R/GA, which earned more nominations across all categories than any other agency this year, won eight awards altogether.

"Love Has No Labels" picked up both the Webby and People's Voice Awards for Best Integrated Campaign, as well as the People's Voice Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. More than two million votes were cast by internet users in 235 countries and territories to choose the winners of the Webby People's Voice Awards.

The agency also scored wins for Beats by Dr. Dre's Tracy Morgan in a Christmas Miracle, Straight Outta and FocusMotion.

The winners were announced this morning by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences.

Multiple awards also went to Lightsaber Esacpe: A Chrome Experience by 72andSunny, which picked up four Webbys, and a range of work for Spotify by Razorfish, which won four awards including Brand Strategy and Best Visual Design.

Other agencies in contention for Webby Agency of the Year included Wieden & Kennedy (which picked up three awards), BBDO New York , Saatchi & Saatchi , Stinkdigital and CP&B.

Among this year's selectors were Droga5's David Droga; Pereira & O'Dell's PJ Pereira; Margaret Johnson, executive creative director and partner at Goodby Silverstein & Partners; McCann Worldgroup's John Mescall; and BBH's Mel Exon.
