Luke Sullivan to chair SCAD ad department

Published on .

Storied copywriter Luke Sullivan, who currently serves as senior VP/managing group creative director at GSD&M, will leave the agency to become chair of the ad department at the Savannah College of Art & Design.

Sullivan, known for his best-selling book Hey Whipple, Squeeze This, has worked in advertising for nearly 30 years at agencies like Fallon McElligott and The Martin Agency. He will join SCAD in September of this year. Current chair, Stephen Hall, will serve as creative director of SCAD's new on-campus advertising agency and will continue to teach advertising.

Sullivan has been on the advisory board of SCAD since 2009. He notes on his blog, Hey Whipple, that he'll remain at GSD&M for now and hand over his duties to a new hire.
