Martin/Williams Debuts Staples Campaign

Staples: Make up for lost time.
Minneapolis agency Martin/Williams breaks a new campaign for office supply chain Staples today, its first since winning the account, formerly at Cliff Freeman, in July. The two new spots, directed by Tom Schiller of Coppos Films, feature characters who waste people's time recommending Staples as a way of getting some of that time back.

In one, the woman whose voice appears on a telephone company's voicemail system apologizes for all the valuable time she's wasted. In the other, a man who can't resist gawking at traffic accidents says he's sorry and suggests Staples business delivery as way to leave the road to people, like himself, "who really enjoy it."
