Matt Bijarchi, currently content manager at CAA in Los Angeles will join TBWA/Chiat/Day, New York in January as executive producer of media arts. The move means a reunion for Bijarchi and TBWA New York CCO Mark Figliulo—the two had worked together at Y&R Chicago during Bijarchi's production stint there from 2002 to 2007.
Figliulo took the creative reins at TBWA's New York office in May of this year after the departure of former ECD Gerry Graf and most of the brain trust that had made the shop a creative hub. Figliulo has since been rebuilding, adding several new creatives including Kris and Alisa Wixom, formerly of BBH, Mother's Rob Baird, and Thiago Zanato and Hoj Jomehri, ex of AKQA. The arrival of Bijarchi will likely coincide with a move to integrate the production department at the agency.
A well regarded production player, Bijarchi left his role as head of production at Y&R Chicago in June 2007 to move to CAA and the content side. He had formerly been at Cliff Freeman & Partners from 2000 to 2002 and, prior to that, Goodby Silvertstein & Partners.
Here's Bijarchi talking about his CAA gig at our 2008 Agency Producers Roundtable.
