Today, Mother New York named three new partners: Pernilla Ammann, Chief Operating Officer; Michael Ian Kay, Creative Director of Mother Design and Tom Webster, Creative Director of Mother New York, joining existing partners Paul Malmstrom, Linus Karlsson and Andrew Deitchman.
The appointments reflect the growing breadth of the agency's creative projects and pursuits, which in recent years have encompassed everything from hot dogs and laptop designs to rock concerts, TV spots and conferences--all part of the agency's goal, as CCO Paul Malmstrom told Creativity, to "build the most interesting company in the whole damn world."
Ammann, a former merger-acquisition lawyer, was Mother New York's first hire when it launched in December 2003. Prior to founding Mother Design, Michael Ian Kaye had an established career in design. His former roles include senior creative director at AR and creative director at Ogilvy & Mather's Brand Integration Group. He was also creative director at several top international publishing houses. Tom Webster has been leading Mother Experience since January 2007, producing events and experiences for the Olympics, NYC Fashion Week, the Tokyo Game Show. Prior to that, he had two decades worth of creating brand experiences for clients like Coca-Cola, Virgin Mobile, Nintendo, Dell and others.
