Murro Out of The Ring

Published on .

Director Noam Murro won't be taking a break from commercials after all. After signing on to direct the sequel to Dreamworks' 2002 thriller The Ring, Murro split with the project this week in what Shawn Lacy Tessaro -- executive producer at Murro's production company Biscuit Filmworks -- describes as a "very amicable parting." "Ultimately they just saw two different films," she says.

"I'd like to do a movie that draws on the genre's origins in The Shining, Rosemary's Baby and The Omen," Murro told us when he joined the project in November. "To make a movie that has some intellectual reference, that is the idea."
