Nike: Just Do Anything?

Published on .

What if athletes tried out other sports?
Can star athletes really do anything? They can according to a new Nike commercial from Wieden + Kennedy/Portland, in which stars are shown dominating sports far removed from their own. We see Andre Agassi as the shortstop for the Boston Red Sox, Lance Armstrong as a boxer, Marion Jones as a gymnast, ace pitcher Randy Johnson as a pro bowler, NFL stars Brian Ulracher and Michael Vick as NHL players and Serena Williams as a volleyball threat -- all in realistic, documentary-style footage. The spot -- which will be served up as a :90, a :60 and several 15-second spots -- was directed by Traktor alum Ulf Johansson via Smith & Jones, with special effects by L.A.'s Sea Level.
