Connelly joins from JWT, where he was executive creative director on Microsoft, The Diamond Trading Company, Kimberly-Clark, HSBC, Ford and Bloomberg. He headed a team that won a number of awards for work on Microsoft, including a Bronze Titanium Lion in Cannes.
In his new role, he will work alongside Steve Simpson, chief creative pfficer for Ogilvy North America and Susan Westre, global creative director for IBM. Simpson described him as 'an ideal fit for Ogilvy and for IBM'. Ogilvy's recent work for IBM has included its campaign for the Watson supercomputer and this year it will launch work for the company's Centennial.
