Propaganda U.K. Declares Its Independence

Published on .

Propaganda and Satellite Films, U.K. has renamed itself Independent Films, signifying "a new beginning for the London-based company" and "its final and complete separation from Propaganda Films in the U.S.," which, of course, no longer exists. As before, the shop will be run by Jani Guest and Richard Packer.

In addition to the name change, Independent has announced its roster, which includes U.K. and European representation for former Satellite director (now repped in the U.S. by Smuggler) Brian Beletic and David Mould, formerly of London's Academy Productions. The shop will also handle U.K. and European representation for the rosters of HKM and The Directors Bureau, which include such names as Mike Mills, Christian Loubek, Sofia Coppola and Maggie Zackheim.
