R/GA Opens Doors in Los Angeles

Digital agency R/GA opened the doors to its newest U.S. office in Los Angeles. Leading the new outpost will be a team of vets on the agency's Nike work: ECD Experience Design Tara Greer, ECD Visual Design Mark Laughlin and Senior Technology Director Luke Stiles, who were all involved in R/GA's various product and service design initiatives for the client over the last five years. The office, based in Santa Monica, is the agency's fifth in the U.S. and second in California. VP Managing Director of R/GA San Francisco will be the interim managing director for the new agency.

Greer has more than 14 years of experience in digital design. Most recently she was CD and experience design lead on the Titanium Lion-winning Nike+ FuelBand. She also worked on the redesign of the NikeID Sneaker Customization Platform as well as the Converse Sampler app, as well as other projects for L'Oreal, Verizon and Corbis.

Former ADC Young Gun Laughlin is a ten-year vet in creative and strategic direction and most recently served as ECD on Nike. He's been decorated with industry honors from the One Show, Cannes, ADC and the Webbys. He also previously worked at Razorfish and Syrup.

Stiles will serve as the L.A. office technology lead, having steered major initiatives like the development and deliver on the One Nike+ web experience and the mobile integration of the entire Nike+ ecosystem. He was also technical lead on MasterCard and oversaw the launch of the Priceless Cities web experience. He also previously worked at MTV Networks, where he worked on the broadcaster's digital music service and web application and content management platfroms. Other members of the L.A. team include Managing Director, Business Development Andy Sullivan and Senior Producer Chris Sullivan. The entire team will continue to work with R/GA's L.A.-based clients and new business opportunities while building out the staff to about 30 in 2013.
