R/GA has opened an office in Stockholm, its second outpost in Europe after London and its ninth office worldwide.
The agency has recruited Anders Erlandsson (pictured, above) as managing director and Kay Hook as executive creative director. Both join R/GA from Digitas Sweden. Erlandsson, who has over 20 years industry experience, managed a number of Digitas key accounts in his former role, and prior to Digitas was a partner and the CEO for Svensson Advertising Agency and CEO and founding partner of Ondatje Advertising Agency.
Hook (pictured, left) has over 15 years of experience, including at Scholz & Friends Stockholm from 2004 to 2010 and prior to that as managing director for OgilvyOne and Ogilvy Interactive. He has won awards for several Nike campaigns, including the Nike 'Run' interactive campaign.
R/GA said hopes to expand to a staff of 25 in Stockholm by 2012. Bob Greenberg, R/GA CEO and global chief creative officer said in a statement: "Since Sweden has long been a hotbed of innovation and creativity in the digital space, our move here gives R/GA an unrivalled opportunity to work with some of the most talented people in the industry, clearly demonstrated by the hires of Anders and Kay."
