Sedgwick Rd. Breaks Wash Mutual Campaign

Published on .

Washington Mutual will join the ranks of Oscar advertisers Sunday night with a breaking spot from agency Sedgwick Rd (formerly McCann-Erickson/Seattle). The spot, directed by Radical Media's Tarsem, focuses on the tribulations of applying for a home loan by showing a man wading through a landfill in search of a lost W-2. "This is the first year where they've gotten to the point where they're a national player," says agency president Jim Walker of his client's Oscar buy. A second Wash Mutual spot, also directed by Tarsem, breaks Monday and shows a loan interview that is, literally, torture.
