Station Film--the new production company launched by industry vets Steve Orent, Caroline Gibney, Tom Rossano, Michael DiGirolamo and Adam Lyne--has signed James Lima to its roster. Lima is a reknowned visual effects supervisor who has worked with top directors like Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Tony Scott, Sam Raimi and Joe Pytka. His most recent effects work includes Doug Liman's Jumper, on which he was visual consultant and conceptual designer. Lima was also the visual effects supervisor/designer of the new Terminator on Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Recently, Lima directed the "Trembled Blossoms" short for Prada, bringing the characters of illustrator James Jean to life. Launched to promote the label's Spring/Summer line, the film depicts a garden nymph's tour through a lush Eden filled with magical creatures—and Prada threads, of course. It debuted earlier this month during fashion week at Prada's Epicenter store in New York and is viewable online at Prada.com.
