Published on .

Steve Simpson, partner and creative director at Goodby Silverstein & Partners is moving to Ogilvy & Mather to take the job of Chief Creative Officer, North America.

Simpson, one of the industry's most respected creatives, had been a creative leader at Goodby for 20 years, working on brands including HP.

In a statement, Tham Khai Meng, Worldwide Creative Director and Chairman, Worldwide Creative Council said, "We are absolutely thrilled to have Steve Simpson on board. Steve is a giant in our industry and he will add enormously to our creative firepower in North America. As CCO, North America, he will play a pivotal role on global and regional clients, and will work closely with John and I to drive great work and pervasive creativity in the biggest market in our network. I cannot think of anyone better than Steve for this role."

Simpson joins Ogilvy in the wake of another high profile creative appointment - the shop recently made Lars Bastholm CCO for New York.
