Swedish Collective StyleWar Shoots for CP+B, Ikea

Published on .

Ikea offers many decorating options.
For its latest round of commercials for Ikea, Crispin Porter + Bogusky tapped Swedish design and directorial collective StyleWar to shoot all that Swedish furniture. Stockholm-based StyleWar -- who are represented by Smuggler in the U.S. -- were featured in this year's Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase in Cannes thanks to a surreal mixed media video for Moby's "In This World." (AdCritic subscribers can view that clip here.) And the group's new spots for Ikea are no less surreal.

One spot proposes design ideas ranging from $100 to $1 million as a room mysteriously transforms itself to meet each budget. In two other spots, with more to come, an impish European magically redecorates rooms right under the noses of their owners.
