Wes Anderson Shoots for Ikea

Published on .

Ikea: Make yourself at home.
Crispin Porter + Bogusky, which kicked of its work for Ikea with an edgy spot from A-list director Spike Jonze, turns to another A-lister, and to a different sort of edge, for its second round of work for the Swedish retailer. In two spots slated to break Monday, features director Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums) serves up slices of life worthy of -- if a little too over-the-top for -- a John Hancock campaign. The dramas aren't genuine, however. Rather, they're customers trying out the furniture the way they'll actually use it at home, as the backdrop for domestic crises. "It feels good," the shoppers decide as a clerk checks in on them. The tag: "Shop unböring."
