The principals of live-action company Windmill Lane Productions and effects company Miss Jones have announced the launch of Pusher
, a new company representing a range of directors and other creators of visual media. Operating out of the Santa Monica location shared by Windmill and Miss Jones, the new company will be led by music video director Meiert Avis -- who will serve as CEO -- and executive producers Bronwen La Grue, formerly of Miss Jones, and Chrisopher Buckley, former managing director of Red Car/L.A. As a result of the launch, the Windmill Lane brand will be dropped, and Windmill directors Avis, Rupert Wainwright and Jamie Caliri will be represented by Pusher. Miss Jones, meanwhile, will continue as a visual effects unit, also repped by Pusher.
Additionally, Pusher launches with a roster that includes MTV promo director Aaron Stoller; former HKM director Todd Lincoln; French director Julie Trousselier; Miss Jones director/designers Stefan Smith and Rob Trent; New York-based design group PanOptic; N.Y. visual design duo KDLab; multimedia collective Tronic; Paris-based effects and directing team No Brain; Dublin-based animation group Spookshow; South African experimental design collective XMAS; and Seattle-based motion design company Blank.
