Y&R, BBDO Split Top Honors at NYC Addys

Young & Rubicam and BBDO split Best of Show honors last night at the New York Addy awards. Y&R won Best of Show in the TV category with the slapstick "Amnesia" ad for Computer Associates, while BBDO took the night's top print honor for a Guinness ad featuring a cast fitted with a bottle opener. Lowe was given the New York Pride award for a newspaper ad, "Flag," paying tribute to 9/11, while DeVito/Verdi collected the America's Pride award for the Ad Council spot "Main Street" (Adcritic subscribers can see it here.)

Overall, 46 Gold Addys were awarded this year. Bozell, which will vanish as a brand after its merger with Lowe, led the field with 12 Golds, followed by Y&R and Lowe, which each won ten awards.
