YouthAIDS, an organization dedicated to raising youth awareness of HIV, has passed on a pair of PSAs created by DDB/New York, according to DDB executive creative director John Staffen. "They felt that, although the work is strong and powerful, it was a little off the strategy they’re pursuing," Staffen says. As reported here last week
, the jarring spots ask "Why do we make bad decisions when we’re naked?" – illustrating the point with footage of nude woman running with scissors and a young man being electrocuted by a toaster. Although the spots have lost their intended sponsor, Staffen says they may yet find a home. "We’re currently talking to a number of people who are interested in sponsoring the spots on an ongoing basis," he says.
