Intel and Toshiba follow up the social tour de force that was "The Inside Experience" with "The Beauty Inside"--a new film out of Pereira & O'Dell and B-Reel, directed by Drake Doremus (Like Crazy), promoting the Toshiba Portege Ultrabook.
The film is about Alex, a 20-something male who lives in Los Angeles, restores antiques and wakes up every day with a new physical appearance. It stars Topher Grace and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and just like "Inside," has a strong social component. The main character is up for grabs: Fans, both male and female, can audition starting today for the role of Alex. Because Alex's appearance keeps changing, multiple people will be chosen to play him, and auditions will continue until the the project ends on Sept. 20.
From the looks of the trailer, the film feels quite different from "Inside," which starred Emmy Rossum as Christina, a woman trapped in a room with an Intel-powered Toshiba laptop and an Internet connection. That campaign had a darker, thriller-esque tone, while "Beauty" has a softer, more romantic, coming-of -age vibe.
