An all-star cast of Lena Dunham, Jon Hamm and director/actor Alex Karpovsky launch The New Yorker's new iPhone app in a somewhat 90s-style filmed web short. For the luddites among you, Dunham -- who also directed the film -- spoon-feeds Hamm and Karpovsky an explanation of what an iPhone is , what an app is and even what The New Yorker is .

The effort is the magazine's latest celebrity attempt to debut its digital goods. Check out Creativity to see its 2010 iPad app launch, for which it tapped actor Jason Schwartzman and director Roman Coppola to create another hilarious film.
