If something stunning caught your eye in the past year, it wouldn't be surprising to find that it was the work of production company Elastic. The company was founded in 2007 by exec producer Linda Wall and Academy Award-winning editor Angus Wall, who first showed signs of his stellar directing and title design skills on the much-lauded opening sequence for Game of Thrones.
The company displayed even more visual artistry on other notable broadcast openers. Director Patrick Clair was behind the much talked-about Emmy-winning titles for True Detective, and then followed those up with more gorgeous work for Season 2. Mr. Clair along with Andy Hall directed Adidas' opening and closing broadcast anthems for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, via TBWA/Chiat/Day L.A.
Director Patrick Murphy brought his artful touches to the 2015 Academy Award Broadcast in projection mapping work and the gorgeous, painterly nomination packages introducing the various contenders.
Mr. Wall went on to work with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners to tip off the opening of the NBA's 2014-2015 season on the campaign "Everybody Up: Roll Call." He also oversaw creative and teamed with director/editor David Brodie on Google Play's crowd-sourced time capsule film promoting the release of Christopher Nolan's Interstellar.
