Veteran powerhouse Hungry Man continued to turn some of the industry's most watchable ads. Director Wayne McClammy, a master of over-the-top comedy, directed EA Sports Madden 15's outrageous music video-style promo starring Dave Franco and Kevin Hart in an extreme game of one-upsmanship.

He also teamed with the Martin Agency on a number of Geico laffers the "It's What You Do" campaign, including one ad inspired by the "poor decisions" made by the cast of horror films, as well as another featuring a somewhat disturbing appearance of that high-pitched cartoon character, Dora the Explorer. He also revisited the brand's "Hump Day" camels in another ad featuring a pair of humpbacks who bemoan the popularity of the phrase made popular by that first ad.

Hank Perlman teamed with Mullen for a Father's Day spin-off of American Greetings' "World's Toughest Job." This time, the agency relied on Mr. Perlman to capture a fake casting call, in which actors were asked to play the role of dad -- with a surprise twist. Mr. Perlman also revisited old school comedy heroes, SNL's "Hanz and Franz," played by Kevin Nealon and Dana Carvey, as well as the Coneheads, played by Jane Curtin and Dan Aykroyd. The actors reprised their roles in funny ads for State Farm and DDB Chicago. Mr. Perlman was also behind the camera for funny Kraft Mac & Cheese ads for Crispin Porter & Bogusky, including one starring Seinfeld actress Estelle Harris as a pushy grandma who snags a seat at the kids' table for a very important reason.

Other comedic highlights came from Dave Laden, who revealed the downside of sharing in a hilarious ad for Taco Bell and Deutsch promoting the brand's new food invention, Grilled Stuf Nachos.

Director Ricardo Mehedff, whose work for CNA Language School and FCB Brazil earned plaudits on the awards circuit, including multiple Gold Lions at Cannes, delivered another moving story for Pedigree and Almap BBDO. "First Days Out" documented the story of two former prisoners, who make their transition back to life out of incarceration with the help of their adopted dogs.
