Chelsea Pictures celebrates its 15th anniversary this autumn. The company began its life in Boston and became an early force in bringing feature talent to commercials and producing emotionally-oriented work with an independent, Euro film feel. Chelsea director Mehdi Norowzian has continued to expand his visual range with recent work running from Microsoft's split-screen "One Degree of Separation" campaign out of McCann to the dramatic "Wind God" for Lexus out of Team One. Chelsea has also been active in film production, with a hand in the Nicholas Barker feature Unmade Beds and Norowzian's Oscar nominated short Killing Joe. Norowzian is now wrapping his first feature, Leo Bloom.
The company had been sold in 1999 to Intelefilm, the former owner of a stable of prodcos and early this year, Chelsea principals Wax, Amon and Mehling bought themselves out from the publicly traded company.
