The Propaganda fallout might have been a godsend for the folks at Smuggler, comprised largely of directing and producing talents from the now defunct hotshop. Since its inception in late March, it has quickly gained the reputation as one of production's sexiest outfits, thanks to a sibling alliance with Villains (see p. ) and its own award-studded directors, who since the shop's launch quickly made their way to noteworthy campaigns. Ivan Zacharias, who earned Gold at Cannes this year for Stella Artois' "Doctor," nabbed the first round of new Levi's work out of BBH/N.Y. Brian Beletic, another Gold Lion winner this year for an Ikea campaign (out of Leagas-Delaney Paris), recently ventured into the surreal on Leagas/S.F.'s Virgin Mobile campaign. The Smugglers also recently welcomed a pair of teams into the family: Happy, the agency/production converts featured in this year's Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors' Showcase, and Iceland's the Snorri Brothers, who helmed Modernista's latest for Hummer.
