New York- and L.A.-based design shop Trollback & Company received the Outstanding Main Title Design Sequence award at the 55th Annual Primetime Emmys last month, for its work on the HBO movie Hysterical Blindness. Trollback's Laurent Fauchere, Chris Haak, Anoine Tinguely and Jakob Trollback received the honors for design on the film, directed by Mira Nair. The opening sequence features the film's star, Uma Thurman, being examined for hysterical blindness; the design plays with the mixing of bright light and darkness, a look achieved by designers pulling in and out of focus and using DV-captured flashlights. Trollback & Company was also nominated for the award for its work on the HBO movie Normal.
