"This was for a lecture I did at the Syracuse school of journalism," says Isley, illustrating the theme that, "to come up with a good editorial art or design idea you need to dig and fully explore a problem. Under deadline pressure, you have to learn to move quickly. My first idea is usually a cliche or just plain bad, but the second or third ones are usually better-if I'm lucky. You have to learn to work quickly but not just bang it out."
