Lisa Brown to Help Create Integrated Sponsorships

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- America Online named Lisa Brown to the newly created post of executive vice president of interactive marketing.

Ms. Brown's experience in e-commerce, sales and marketing, in addition to creating integrated programs for the National Basketball Association and Nascar, were key factors in her appointment, according to AOL.

responsible for identifying and building new marketing opportunities for AOL's business customers. Her role will require her to work with AOL's brand marketing and broadband groups to create integrated sponsorships.

Key liaison
She will report to Bob Sherman, president of AOL interactive marketing. The company said she will be a key liaison between the online division and parent company AOL Time Warner's internal Global Marketing Solutions group headed by Michael Kelly.

Last week, Jimmy de Castro, America Online's president of AOL Interactive Services, left the troubled portal after eight months on the job.

At USA Electronic Commerce Solutions, where she headed the USA Interactive division, Ms. Brown worked for Jon Miller, now the CEO of America Online.

Mr. Miller is scheduled to deliver his turnaround plan for the ailing online unit on Dec. 3. He is expected to make original content, new subscription services, commerce and transactions key features of his plan.
