CA Technologies has partnered with CNN on a data-driven mobile app called CNN Politics, which launched Thursday.
The app, which is built with CA software, tracks the latest polling, delegate, voting and fundraising data for the 2016 U.S. presidential election, and is the latest effort in CA's "App Culture" campaign, which broke earlier this month.
"We are trying to elevate CA and make CA more visible, particularly to audiences we don't normally reach that well," said Lauren Flaherty, CMO at CA Technologies.
"Demonstrating software is not the easiest thing to do," she said. "We wanted to be part of a really big conversation -- a conversation that is very visible and very in the moment. This presidential election is already one of the hottest conversations on the planet today, and CNN is in the thick of it with broadcast, digital, mobile and social."
The CNN Politics App is aimed at voters, political influencers, consumers and business decision-makers. Users can customize the app and receive personalized alerts and notifications about what's happening with the election in real time.
"As we invest in politics and the election coverage, from an advertising sales standpoint, our sales team is always looking for big, great partners that can work with us and represent our brand and their brands," said Katrina Cukaj, executive VP-portfolio sales and client partnerships at Turner Ad Sales.
"CA has the expertise that is perfect for what we do here as we continue to build data-driven products for viewers and users across digital, TV, mobile and social. We want to give them the data they need so they can figure out what is going on with the election."
The "App Culture" campaign, which broke with TV ads, showed how different aspects of life -- from love to shopping to health -- are powered by software.
"The 'App Culture' campaign is all about the ways software enhances how we live today," Ms. Flaherty said. "Now, if you look at what CNN is doing, this whole notion of democracy powered by data is another dimension of this on a very, very large scale."
The app is available to iOS users at the app store.
