CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- DoubleClick acquired the remaining stake in Abacus Direct Europe, the provider of consumer lifestyle data of which it already owned 50%.

Abacus Direct Europe currently exists only in the U.K., but DoubleClick will rely on Claritas to provide data products for the European business for the next five years to enable DoubleClick to expand the business into other European markets.

The Abacus database in the U.K., which launched in 1998, includes 250 million transactions from 26 million households.
