Activision to Use Technology to Promote Racing Game

By Published on .

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Tech provider GameSpy Industries has developed a new type of streaming ad campaign that downloads as viewers load the ad, rather than having to click on and through a banner.

The technology debuts Nov. 29 with the online ad campaign for Activision's new racing game "Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions" for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox video-game console.

Activision and its online agency, Ignited Minds, Los Angeles, is the first client/agency team to use the new technology, which is being marketed to non-gaming marketers.

Streaming, broadband-enabled video of "Wreckless" will appear on GameSpy.com and FilePlanet.
