After enlisting Zooey Deschanel and Samuel L. Jackson to push the new iPhone and its Siri voice-recognition technology, Apple continues to highlight its man-machine interplay with a new pair of spots starring actor John Malkovich.

These ones don't appear to take themselves too seriously. In one, the actor simply says to Siri: "Life." She spouts a list of axioms for living a good one, including to "avoid being fat," "read a good book every now and then" and "try to live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations."

The ads, from TBWAMedia Arts Lab, also mark Malkovich's first commercial filmed for U.S. distribution.
