For those of you who, like me, were enjoying watching the Cowboys thrash the Giants in last night's NFL season opener, you may have caught Amazon's new commercial, which made its debut during the game. Of course, the timing was no coincidence: The company held a major press conference today, announcing the Kindle Paperwhite. As noted by the Verge, the ad clearly features a "backlit E-Ink Kindle reader" and looks a lot like the device unveiled at today's press event.

The ad is carries the same "technology-meets-lifestyle" vibe employed by Google and Apple and after touting all the ways Amazon has subtly changed the way things work, ends with the claim, "What once seemed wildly impractical is now completely normal, and normal just begs to be messed with."
