Marketer MVPs of Social Media: LeBron James Lifts More Than Just Cleveland

LeBron James may have returned a pro-sports championship to Cleveland when his Cavaliers came back from three games down to win a seven-game finals against the Golden State Warriors, but he also lifted the many brands that are associated with him.

Perhaps first and foremost there's Nike, which signed a lifetime deal with the star in December, and shows up this week as the most engaging brand on Instagram courtesy of the pic you see below.

Methodology: Marketer MVPs surfaces the individual brand posts, both paid and organic, that generated the most engagement on Facebook (defined as likes, shares and comments), Twitter (retweets and likes), Instagram (likes and comments), Tumblr (original notes) and YouTube (official views, comments and thumbs-ups). Brands tracked are the 200 most-advertised brands by U.S. measured-media spending in 2014, per Ad Age Datacenter, in addition to the top 500 brands as identified in the Redbooks 500.
