Week in and week out since we introduced the YouTube Channel Tracker in August, The Warner Sound has proven the video site's most popular premium original channel. This week The Warner Sound's reign comes to an end as Mondo Media takes its place atop the Tracker.
Mondo Media actually saw views decline -- as did all the channels but three -- but it still outranked all the others in our most recent ranking. The channel, which has racked up an impressive 1.3 billion views and 1.3 million subscribers cumulatively, now tops both the current Top 25 Ranking and the All-Time Ranking.
Specializing in "animated comedy that 's not for children or big babies," according to its YouTube page, Mondo Media has a long line-up of successful cartoon series that bring in viewers every week. Most episodes of "Happy Tree Friends," one of its channel's most popular series, get more than a million views, and one even garnered more than 16 million views.
This week, however, it was the seventh episode of a relatively new show called "Deep Space 69," described as a sci-fi sex comedy, that trended on the Tracker, amassing more than 150,000 views. The show is one of a number of series that the channel introduced earlier this year when it joined the YouTube Originals line-up.
Last month Mondo Media said it had signed up other companies' channels with a similar sensibility -- including Rug Burn, Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted, Joe Cartoon and Guy J. Collins -- to form a "network" called Mondo Mojo. The outside channel views don't count toward Mondo Media's views on our Tracker except when their videos are featured and played on the Mondo Media YouTube channel.
