NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The top blogs of the year, as noted by Technorati, made Ad Age's Book of Tens. But Nielsen BuzzMetrics recently diced it a bit smaller, publishing its list of the most-linked-to stand-alone blog posts of 2006.
A Crooks and Liars account of Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents' Dinner was the year's second most linked-to blog post.
A Crooks and Liars account of Stephen Colbert at the White House Correspondents' Dinner was the year's second most linked-to blog post.

The blog-buzz-measuring firm found, not surprisingly, a small number of powerful bloggers tended to be the root of many of the 100 most popular posts -- but there were a few surprises, such as the most popular post, from a relatively small blogger protesting changes in LiveJournal's interface.

So what kinds of findings should bloggers glean from the list? Well, it appears that if you want lots of links write about Keith Olbermann, political spoofs or, well, blogging. Hey, no one ever said this wasn't a navel-gazing industry.
