Sony Taps MySpace to Market Facebook Movie

We Know 'The Social Network' Isn't Helping Facebook. But MySpace Is Another Story

When you've established yourself as the social network for music and movies, that means serving up all the latest entertainment content -- even if it plugs a competitor.

MySpace this week debuted a special interactive trailer for Sony Pictures' "The Social Network," the David Fincher flick about Facebook and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. You can see it below.

The salt-in-the-wound? The trailer allows viewers to click on parts of the movie to obtain all sorts of facts about Facebook's success. "There are over 500 million active users on Facebook. Are you one of them?" And, "Facebook is the top social networking site and overtook MySpace in 2009."

The folks over at MySpace might have taken comfort in a few less-than-glowing facts shared about Zuckerberg, though. "Unlike JayZ, Mark Zuckerberg writes down all his genius ideas and has binders filled with them." "97% of Harvard students graduate but Mark Zuckerberg wasn't one of them." ZING! Well, kinda.
