Cows become latest billboard

By Published on .

[vienna] The Cow Placard Co. is offering advertisers the chance to have a company logo or ad slogan painted onto a Swiss cow's flank using car paints. Founder Frank Baumann says his goal is to "help boost the rural economy" but animal rights groups have criticized him as a publicity-seeker rather than a supporter of agriculture. Mr. Baumann, who charges about $375 per cow, claims to have many contracts signed. One of the first was with Swiss clothing company Alprausch.
