By Published on .

[tokyo] Omnicom's DDB Worldwide Communications Group and Japan's fifth-largest agency, Tokyu Agency, have formed a non-equity alliance in Japan. In early 2003 DDB Japan, ranked No. 32 in Japan after a 22% drop in gross income last year, will change its name to DDB Tokyu Agency Creative to reflect the new relationship with Tokyu. Douglas Faudet, president-CEO of DDB Japan, will continue as president of the renamed agency and a Tokyu executive will serve as chairman.
