Gray departs Armando Testa

By Published on .

[rome] The London-based international head of Armando Testa, Italy's largest ad agency, has left. David Gray arrived as director of international operations in 2000, shortly after the $30 million Pirelli tire business he headed at WPP Group's Young & Rubicam moved to Armando Testa. Testa has struggled to develop an international presence, with short-lived alliances with a couple of London agencies, most recently a venture with three London admen last year that ended as soon as their agency, Campbell Doyle Dye, opened. Meanwhile, Testa is breaking an international print campaign for Pirelli's Diablo motorcycle tires. A motorcyclist speeds through hell happily outracing devils in his own version of paradise. Tagline: "Diablo, hell for the others."
