Gucci goes below the G-string

By Published on .

[london] Gucci goes for the G-spot in a double-page ad in British Vogue's February issue showing model Louise Pedersen pulling down her panties to show her pubic hair shaved into the letter G as a man kneels before her. The ad was created in-house by celebrity photographer Mario Testino. A Gucci spokeswoman said the ad is also running in "magazines throughout the world" and may appear in British Elle's March edition. The U.K.'s Advertising Standards Authority is investigating the ad after receiving five complaints. If the ASA decides the complaints are valid, Gucci will be asked to immediately withdraw the ad, said an ASA spokeswoman. Tom Ford, Gucci's creative director, enjoys the hoopla. "I think it's great," he told The Sunday Times of London. "The G-spot is the ultimate in branding. I even considered selling a Gucci waxing kit in the stores."
