Vodafone, MTC brand in Kuwait

By Published on .

[london] One of the first things international media and military travelers arriving in the Middle East to prepare for war against Iraq will see are ads at Kuwait City International airport in Arabic and English for Vodafone, the world's largest cellphone operator. Vodafone has a partnership with local cellphone company MTC and began joint MTC-Vodafone branding March 1. A TV, print and poster campaign began in January by MTC's local agency, TMI, Kuwait City. TMI is the Middle East network of WPP Group's J. Walter Thompson, Vodafone's global agency. A spokeswoman at Vodafone, Newbury, England, said the timing is coincidental.
