The Hans Brinker Budget Hotel in Amsterdam and local agency KesselsKramer have built a decade of award-winning advertising around how awful the hotel is. In the first pan-European campaign since the hotel fired KesselsKramer last year for going too far and then rehired the agency, out-of-home ads and an MTV spot promise: "It can't get any worse. But we'll do our best." Before-and-after print ads contrast a problem, like cigarette burns on the carpet, with the Hans Brinker solution: Cut out the singed part. Art director: Erik Kessels.
