Work: Stella Artois

Published on .

The annual Stella Artois epic by Interpublic Group of Cos.' Lowe & Partners, London, is the closest thing to a guaranteed Cannes Lion gold winner. In the 90-second TV and cinema spot "Devil's Island," French prisoner Didier is on a crowded ship bound for the penal colony. He happens upon a guard's bottle of Stella Artois, but he can't find privacy to savor it. Finally, he knocks another guard unconscious, knowing he will be thrown into solitary-confinement. The TV and cinema spot ends with a smiling Didier and the perennial tagline "Stella Artois. Reassuringly expensive." Art director/copywriter: Vince Squibb. AdAge.com QwikFIND aao430
