WPP names two board members

By Published on .

[london] WPP Group named two new board directors, David H. Komansky, chairman of the board of Merrill Lynch & Co., and Howard Paster, former chairman of WPP Group's Hill & Knowlton who joined WPP in August 2002 as exec VP-public relations/public affairs. They replaced Sir Christopher Lewinton and Warren Hellman beginning Jan. 28, 2003. The Financial Times reported that WPP is under fire for not appointing more independent directors because Merrill Lynch is one of WPP's investment banks and Mr. Paster works for WPP.
