Fine arts publisher Taschen has released introduced another set of tomes whose size beautifully serves their contents. The A-Z of Modern Architecture, edited by Peter Gössel, packs in nearly 20 pounds worth of material covering the most influential personalities, works and movements of modern architecture from the 18th through the 21st centuries. Featuring 1,072 pages over two volumes, the giant slipcased set includes more than 5,000 illustrations—portraits, drawings, blueprints and photographs—but unlike the typical architectural survey, the books puts the designers in the spotlight, with 566 entries profiling the individual talents through their approaches, influences and key pieces of work.
