What the Hell is the Matter With You People?

By Published on .

Would you let a 5-year-old watch Village of the Damned? The Baby Doll Murders? Would you let a little kid see Child's Play, featuring the uber-creepy "Chucky?"

Of course not. That would be sick. No small child can handle that sort of freak show. It's too terrifying, the stuff of which nightmares are made. If you saw some mom taking her kid to the latest Chucky flick, you'd think her negligent, if not actually abusive.

So what possibly could have TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles, been thinking to run Sony's perverse baby-doll spot on network TV in the middle of Sunday afternoon? And what could have prompted, say, CBS to run it?

Is there so much arrogance, or just cluenessness, in your industry to forget that what you put in the mass media is viewed by human beings not necessarily in the target audience? What the hell is the matter with you people? My God. What a bunch of jerks.
