Garry Lace, whose last agency post resulted in a suspension and resignation from Lowe Worldwide, is back. Or, as he put it in The Guardian, "Well, yes, I am back, I guess. Goodness, I'm back doing the only thing I'm half decent at, which is advertising."
His new shop is called Campbell Lace Beta. It will open on May 1 and feature a maypole as a logo. Mr. Lace said the maypole is the "pagan symbol of fertility, which we like. ... You know, it means giving birth to ideas."
Mr. Lace left Lowe in 2006 after the agency lost its prized Tesco account to founder Frank Lowe's new shop. It was alleged at the time that Mr. Lace had had dealings with Mr. Lowe prior to the account move.
His new partner, Robert Campbell, runs an agency aimed at the over-50 set that will be folded into the new shop.
