NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Aurelio Lopes took over as regional president of DraftFCB Latin America this month, and the agency network is moving its Latin American headquarters from Miami to Sao Paulo, where Mr. Lopes is based. He keeps his current job as president of Giovanni & DraftFCB in Brazil, one of the biggest and most successful agencies in DraftFCB's international network.
Mr. Lopes succeeds Rafael de Guzman, the former president-CEO of FCB International, who took on the Latin American role after Interpublic Group of Cos. merged FCB with Draft.
International agencies frequently move around their Latin American headquarters to let their regional heads live in their native countries, or run a national business in addition to their regional responsibilities as Mr. Lopes will do. Most agency networks have their regional headquarters in one of four cities: Miami, Mexico City, Buenos Aires or Sao Paulo.
