Advertising Age is accepting nominations for its first Women to Watch Europe list to honor outstanding women in advertising, marketing and media in the U.K. and continental Europe. Ad Age has been doing Women to Watch in the U.S. since 1997 and now is partnering with WACL (Women in Advertising and Communications London) to bring Women to Watch to Europe, with an event in London.
Ad Age will name 20 honorees in the U.K. and other major markets in Western Europe. The nomination form for this prestigious honor can be found here. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Feb. 29. Women to Watch honors women who are changing the industry now (it's not a lifetime achievement award), so it's important to be specific in your nomination.
The international expansion of Women to Watch began with the launch of Women to Watch China five years ago, followed by Turkey and Brazil and, in 2015, Argentina, Colombia and Mexico. Last year, three former Women to Watch honorees were jury presidents at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Advertising: Wendy Clark, then Coca-Cola's president of sparkling brands and strategic marketing in North America and now DDB Worldwide's North America president and CEO; Jean Lin, Beijing-based global CEO of Isobar, and Joanna Monteiro, Sao Paulo-based chief creative officer of FCB Brazil.
Until now, Ad Age has honored outstanding women from the U.K. as part of our annual Women to Watch event in New York. Past honorees include Lindsay Pattison, worldwide CEO of WPP-owned media agency network Maxus (2015), Syl Saller (2014), Anna Bateson (2013), Roisin Donnelly and Cilla Snowball (2012), Nicola Mendelsohn (2011), Emma Walmsley (2010), Tamara Ingram (2007) and Carol Potter (2005). This year Ad Age will celebrate the 20th year of Women to Watch in the U.S., in a longtime partnership with AWNY (Advertising Women of New York). You can see all last year's U.S. honorees here.
Now it's time, in partnership with WACL, for a Women to Watch Europe event in London. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Feb. 29. You will find the nomination form here. There is no fee to submit nominations. Honorees will be announced by early April, profiled in Ad Age, and celebrated at an evening event at the Savoy on Monday, June 6.
